About Brandyn The Buzz of a tattoo machine, the clink of a wrench, and the spark of creativity—these sounds have been the rhythm of Brandyn’s life since he was a kid, wrenching on cars with his dad in their California garage. Those early lessons in grit and craftsmanship sparked a passion for precision that would later collide with his love of tattooing. Today, as the heart and soul of Feldman Tool Co., Brandyn channels that passion into crafting tools that keep tattoo artists pushing boundaries and creating their best work. Brandyn’s tattooing story began in the U.S. Navy, where he first picked up a tattoo machine and felt the buzz of a craft he couldn’t shake. After his service ended in 2003, he cut his teeth in the raw, unfiltered world of East LA & Hollywood / Fullerton tattoo shops, where he sharpened his skills and learned what it takes to thrive in this art form. Over the years, Brandyn owned and ran shops in Hollywood, Downtown LA - California, and Nashville, Tennessee, gaining firsthand insight into the needs of tattooers and the tools they trust to do the job right. Brandyn didn’t stop at tattooing—he also built and led Feldman Electric and Feldman Mfg., businesses that cemented his expertise in engineering and manufacturing. These ventures laid the foundation for Feldman Tool Co., the ultimate expression of his relentless drive to blend artistry with innovation. While the name has changed through rebranding and growth, one thing has stayed constant: the legacy of unmatched craftsmanship and the promise of quality in every tool. For Brandyn, being a craftsman isn’t just about making tools—it’s about understanding what it takes to create something that lasts. That belief drove him to dive deep into the science of toolmaking, mastering metals, geometry, machining, and magnetic power. Fueled by curiosity and sheer determination, he transformed doubt into expertise. Once told by a schoolteacher that he wasn’t bright enough to consider college, Brandyn proved them wrong—teaching himself CAD, CAM, and CNC machining & manual machining with the help of generous mentors, HAAS Automation, and Autodesk Fusion 360. That hard-won knowledge is now the backbone of tools designed to meet the highest standards of quality and performance. A true historian of tattooing, Brandyn is inspired by American traditional styles and explores tattoo history across cultures. For him, every tool is a bridge between the past and the future—a way to honor the roots of the craft while driving it forward. When Brandyn isn’t immersed in all things tattoo, you’ll find him restoring WWII-era steamships or drafting mechanical blueprints by hand. He also loves working with Joe Rinaudo, a longtime family friend and best friend to David Feldman (Brandyn's father). Joe restores Lamps and American Photoplayers, and over the years, Brandyn has helped Joe and been totally inspired by his vast knowledge. Along with Joe's influence, countless tattoo artists have helped guide Brandyn as he learned, such as Tattooers California Ralph, Jerry Rieger, Baby Ray, Bob Roberts, Lance McLain, Tom Beasley, Mick Beasley, and many, many others. Brandyn's love for tactile craftsmanship and connection to history runs deep, a thread that ties together his work and his life. At home, he treasures time with his wife, Courtney, their daughter Frieda (born in 2024), and their two playful dogs, Crosby and Tot. He also credits his strong work ethic to his grandfather, Orville, and his keen design eye to his mother, Mary, both of whom instilled in him the values of hard work, attention to detail, and creativity. For Brandyn, it’s all about creating things that last—whether it’s a tool, a tattoo, or a legacy. Brandyn’s California roots have always fueled his creativity. Living in Ventura County keeps him close to a community of makers who share his passion for building and creating. With the beach and farmland just minutes away, he finds the perfect balance of energy and calm to inspire his work.
