THE IRON FACTORY
The Iron Factory, a legendary hub of tattoo machine craftsmanship, stands as a testament to the artistry and innovation of master tattooer Paul Rogers. Known as the "grandfather of American tattooing," Rogers dedicated his life to perfecting the tools of the trade, shaping the future of modern tattooing.
Nestled in a 6' x 10' shed behind his mobile home in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, the Iron Factory was where the magic happened. In this intimate space, Rogers meticulously hand-built tattoo machines, fusing engineering with artistry to push the craft forward. But his impact went beyond machines—he was a mentor, sharing his knowledge with the next generation of tattooers.
After Rogers' passing in 1990, the Iron Factory sat dormant—until its revival by Brandyn Feldman. Acquired from Tom and Mick Beasley while Feldman was living in Maryland, this historic workshop was painstakingly restored and brought back to life. Today, the Iron Factory lives on at the Feldman Tool Co. headquarters in Ventura, California.
